Drippy faucets

The faucet in the tub leaks.
It drips all day.
Water is wasted.
And because of the ancient pipes and hard water, it leaves a nasty stain on the tub.
There’s nothing good about it.

I read this snippet this morning:

A quarrelsome wife is like
a constant dripping on a rainy day;
restraining her is like restraining the wind
or grasping oil with the hand.

Sometimes, when life feels overwhelming, I become the drippy faucet…the quarrelsome wife.
I’m annoyed and unsettled and discontent and I start nagging.
And everyone feels it.
And life is wasted.
And the effects of my behavior leaves nasty stains of others hearts.
There’s nothing good about it.

Again, ugh.

Then I read this and know there’s hope for even me:

“Come now, let us reason together,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the best from the land…

Praying for a willing, obedient and content heart, mind and soul today…
